TikTok, known in China as Douyin, is a video-sharing focused social networking service, owned by Chinese company ByteDance. It hosts a variety of short-form user videos, from genres like dance, comedy, and education, with durations from 15 seconds to three minutes.
Day in and day out; more and more of the world ‘top stars’ and celebrities are joining the TIKTOK challenge. Most TikTok challenges start with a popular song or sound. One video with that sound goes viral, and soon, other users start putting their own spin on it. And when more and more people start to do their own versions, it quickly becomes a trend.
The challenges become more fun, interesting and goes viral when we have popular ‘stars’ or celebrities starting or joining the challenge.
Currently trending on TIKTOK, is a dance challenge; the dance goes with a very popular song, ‘Touch it, touch it, touch it, touch it… shut up and bend over’ by KiDi, a Ghanaian high-life and afrobeats singer.
As usual, more and more of the world top ‘stars’ and celebrities have also joined this new dance challenge, and making it hit the internet.
The dance starts with the dancer touching the lips with the forefinger… then bending over, and slowly moving the waist up and down in accordance with the beat.
Sriti Jha, known widely in the Kumkum Bhagya TV series as Pragya, has also joined the ‘…shut up and bend over’ dance challenge. Pragya who is well known in the TV shows for wearing the traditional Indian long gown, was seen in the video with a colleague, wearing a short skirts with a ‘top’, that looks like a sweater, and ‘killing the dance’
Pragya and her dance partner could not hide their joy, as they displayed the best of their dancing skills in the 9 seconds TIKTOK video.
Also joining the challenge earlier was Abhi (Abhishekh Mehra- Pragya’s husband in Kukum Bhagya). Abhi, whose real name is Shabir Ahluwalia, was seen dancing to the song with some of his co-stars in a flowing stream.
Sriti Jha, popularly known as Pragya was born on 26 February 1986. She is an Indian actress who appears in Indian soap operas, and rose to prominence with her role as Pragya Arora in Kumkum Bhagya.
Pragya has Bachelor of Arts in English, from Sri Venkateshwara College in New Delhi. She won the Indian Telly Award for Best Actress in a Lead Role, ITA Award for Best Actress in Drama series and Gold Award for Best Actress in a Lead Role for Kumkum Bhagya.
