Matilda Asare explained in her words that she does not see anything wrong with the country that needs to be changed, implying that the “Fix The Nation” movement is a hoax. According to her, Ghana has very strong rules that cover everybody and set things in order.
She made the remark while being interviewed on Empress Nana Ama Mcbrown's United television program "Showbiz 360."
She said that there is true peace in the world because the doctors and teachers we know to be on strike are all employed and not on strike, so there is nothing that needs to be done.
On the “Improve The Country” demonstrators, the actress requested them to be precise about their needs or the explanation for their protest so that the government could fix them.
Despite being questioned by her acting colleague turned show host Nana Ama Mcbrown, Matilda maintained her position because she believes the government is doing its best for the country.
When the outage or "dumsor" began again in April 2021, the #fixthenation hashtag emerged.
Another explanation for the campaign is the very difficult and adverse circumstances, such as the increase in taxes imposed on Ghanaians.
