Naomi's semi-naked images are causing quite a stir on social media. (Watch)

Naomi was born Fruh-Ngwing Achu to an eight-member family in Bamenda, the capital of Cameroon's Northwest Region. She is the youngest of six children.

Her father served as a diplomat at the Cameroonian Embassy in London, while her mother taught elementary and secondary school students; both parents are now retired. When Naomi was nine years old, she began creating songs. She had her first opportunities to sing at Saker Baptist College in Limbe and Baptist High School in Buea (both in Cameroon's Southwest Region).

She also worked at M1 Studios in Buea as a back-up vocalist for recording artists. Naomi was MTN Cameroon's automated voice for a spell.

Naomi is influenced by performers from a wide range of genres. Angelique Kidjo, Whitney Houston, Michael and Janet Jackson, Mary Mary, Makoma, Mary J. Blige, Kirk Franklin, Lauryn Hill, and Erykah Badu are among others who have performed.

Naomi is the creator and CEO of International Nurses for Africa, in addition to having her own business. In 2010, she graduated from Marymount University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
