Grace Latoya Hamilton popularly known as Spice is a summer baby born August 6, 1982 in saint Catherine,Jamaica. She is a DJ, singer, songwriter and actress who rose to fame at an early age of 18. Spice used to live in London with her grandparents during her childhood. Upon return to Jamaica, she the diva attended saint Catherine high and would frequently take part in the JCDC festival. Her initial goal in life was to become an accountant but as destiny would have it, she decided to pursue a music career and attended the Edmund Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts .Between the years 2000 and 2007, Spice began to slowly make her name in the dancehall community. In 2000, she was given the opportunity to perform at the annual dancehall festival. Although at this early stage of her career she had no head backers, her performing abilities earned her several encores from the audience. While touring in the UK, she gained the attention of Babycham and later on producer Dave Kelly. With them, she created hits like "fight over man" and "right there takes me good". Between 2008 to 2012, was the dancehall queens breakthrough year and her success continued to grow.
In late 2008, Spice collaborated with the king of dancehall, Vybz kartel and the single, "Rumping shop" was created. The hit single was number 9 on the Pitchfork's list of best 50 dancehall songs and billboards 12 best. In 2009 and 2010, the dancehall queen received the excellence in music and entertainment awards (EME)for female DJ of the year since then she has won many more awards and dropped a lot hit dancehall songs which has earned her the title, "Dancehall Queen".
