Celebrities are like regular people but because they influence a lot of people and not just their families, when they die the country loses that good thing. When they die, the people they influence feel loss and pain. Of late I have analyzed some trend and realized that a lot of celebrities have died in elections year especially 2016 and 2020 which is not over yet. With that in mind I ask the question why are celebrities dying in elections year like flies. Before you answer that question, here are some celebrities that have died in 2016 and 2020.
1. Daasebre Gyamenah: This highlife legend died on the 29th of July 2016 at the 37 Military Hospital. Before his death he had made many significant contributions to highlife and the entertainment industry.
2. Katawere: Katawere known in real life as Ebenezer Donkor was popular Kumawood actor who made us laugh and relieve our stress or pain or sadness. The Efiewura actor passed away in 2016 after battling an illness.
3. Comedian Nkomode: Yaw Donkor also known as Commedian Nkomode who regularly made us laugh and entertained us passed away on 5th February 2016. His famous works was staring in the popular comedy TV program Key Soap Concert Party.
4. Bishop Bernard Nyarko: This Kumawood legend passed away just a few months ago in 2020. Before his death he had stared in countless Kumawood movies, made us happy and forget our problems even for a little while. He was an inspiration and influence to majority of Ghanaians.
5. Miliky MiCool: Ex-Yolo actress Beatrice Chinery passed way just this month. The veteran actress who stared in Yolo, Kejetia etc. was a real influence and inspiration to a lot of Ghanaians. Sadly, death took her away from us like the majority of stars on this list.
6. Nana Tuffour: Another highlife legend in the name of Nana Tuffour who influenced a lot of people in the 80’s to 200’s passed away just yesterday. His death came as a shock to all of us.
These are just a few Ghanaian celebrities have died in elections year. Now I am not saying celebrities don’t die in any other year but they just seem to die more in elections year.
