The battle for the most beautiful queen, Ghana’s Most Beautiful 2021 (GMB 2021) gets tougher and emotional as Greater Accra’s representative, Dede who won the Best Costume for the night was shown the way out from the contest on week seven. However, it was a joyful night for the Upper East’s rep Wedaga emerged as the Most Eloquent contestant for the night, and the Central Region’s rep Kwansema winning the Star Performance for the night. On Sunday, 22 August 2021, the contestants were tasked to celebrate their unsung heroines in their communities. So far, four contestants out of 16 have been eliminated from the ongoing beauty pageant. As usual, the audience was ushered into the night event by two gorgeous presenters, Anita Akua Akuffo and Shirley Emma Tibilla.
Some of the names of unacknowledged heroines that pop up during the night contest include Justice Annie Ruth Jiaggem, judge and women’s rights activist from the Volta. Ohenmaa Abrafi Koto II, the queen mother of Techiman from Bono East. Florence Abena Dolphyne, a linguist and academic from Ashanti. Rebecca Naa Dedei Aryeetey, a Political Activist and chief financier of CPP from Greater Accra. Okomfo Amoona, a powerful priestess known to have existed in the mid-13th century from Central. Former ambassador to Denmark and Scandinavians, Hajia Fati Habib Jawula from Savannah. Sherifa Gunu from the Northern region, the legendary and multiple award winner. Ms. Linat Osman, a woman who has made a great impact on young ladies in the Upper West region. Angelina Akua Nana Oduro, a woman use for the famous “Akwaaba” photo from the Eastern region and many more.
The audience was entertained with an amazing performance from the legendary and multiple award-winning, Queen of African music, Sherifa Gunu the first runner-up in the 1998 Embassy Pleasure, a popular national dance championship in the 1990s.Photo Credit: TV3_ghana Instagram page.
