It was a surprise to viewers and the GMB participants. When the birds with cowries appeared in the studio, Judges looked at it in surprise as Mfodwo the Bono Regional contestant boldly held them in her palms.
The reason for the birds on set was explained. " In my hands are two birds. A dark and white with cowries. They signify the color of humanity. Whether you're Black or white, we're all one people". Mfodwo boldly spoke.

"'I wonder why some black people like myself bleach their color to become white. Hardly do we see whites turning to become black. Be proud of your color. Black is beautiful" Mfodwo added.
After explaining the mission of the birds in studio, she left them to fly. She explained that aspect as the freedom of the black man.
" We're free to move like my birds in the studio. We're free to do things on our own way. Emancipate yourself from mental slavery and cherish your race"
At this juncture, the GMB Judges had no option than to give her three green cards to stay in the competition. How grateful Mfodwo will be for adding the birds as props to her poetry. Indeed, we must be proud as Africans.
