The Kerala couple were married in 1996 which is 85 years now. Mr. Madhavan Nair and Mrs. Meenakshi Amma are the best example of true love. When the couples were visited Mr Madhavan took time to explain their love story.
He said they knew each other since they were all in the same school but after some few years the two changed schools.
"It's true that we knew each other from School. We had seen each other but hadn't spoken much. What do school kids have to talk about at that age? Years later, our family decided to get us married and that's how it happened," explained Madhavan.
People would come to get him. He would go with them and share whatever knowledge he had. It never bothered me since I knew he was going on work and not for anything else" Meenakshi said.
He said their marriage was a very simple one with no show referring to the current wedding celebrations. He told the media the wedding took place at Meenakshi Amma's house where the veneration were done. "Nobody got married in Temples like now and young people never eloped. Weddings happened at the bride's house," he added.
The two have 5 children. All of them stayed in Kottayam. He had to do social works and worked long hours to take care of his family. This really prevented him from spending time with his family. At age 102 he started walking with a walking stick but he said he can walk around the compound and wherever he wishes. When they were asked of the 85 years experience they had together, they both smiled at each other and love was seen in their eyes.
Their love story is such an inspiration to the next generation.
