The moments of great joy for every woman happens to be the day of her wedding and the day she brings life into the world, and showing off a baby bump is something women of today cherish so badly, and photographers will do anything to capture the baby bump of a celebrity, how much more that of Royalty. But did you know that there is no single picture of Queen Elizabeth with a baby bump despite the fact that she had four children!
Infact she retired from public engagements when she was about to give birth to Prince Charles and the only thing Buckingham officially released to the world was that the 22-year old Queen has been in labour for hours and needed an emergency CS to give birth to Prince Charles. The same secrecy surrounds the rest of her children who were never revealed to the world until they were about a month old. Princess Diana was the first to give birth in a hospital, and that has millions of people asking why the Royal House was so secretive about pregnancies?
The answer lye's in the belief that pregnancy was a "taboo" and had to be kept a secret in other to maintain the moral reputation of Her Royal Majesty. Unlike what we have today where members of the Royal family don't feel bothered when it comes to showing the world their baby bump, the Queen believed these pictures would simply make headlines and drag unnecessary attention to a baby that is not yet born.
