I was patiently waiting to see the three winners this morning on Tv3's morning show, Newday, but I was disappointed.
Earlier on the newday morning show, Berla Mundi had announced that the three winners of the just ended GMB Pageant, Safoah, Setor and Manu were going to be live on the entertainment segment of the show for a brief interview.
However, Setor who earned the position as the 1st Runner Up failed to show up.
Infact, I was highly disappointed when only Safoah and Manu were the only ones who were present for the interview.
So where is Setor? I soliloquize. I couldn't simply imagine what might have kept the 2nd Runner up away.
As I watched, I was hoping to hear a word regarding why Setor couldn't come for the interview but there was no mention of her.
Then just after the interview, MzGee makes a clarifying statement that presupposes that, some people were questioning why they changed the Rule to 40% Vote and 60% Judges score at the last minute.
MzGee indicated that the rule had always been that during the GMB finale, the judges had 60% score right and the public also had the 40% Voting power.
It could be remembered that, it was announced during the finale last night that the judges were scoring 60% and the public would now have 40% vote.
This changes obviously wasn't a welcoming idea for the fans of Setor as she was leading with the voting.
Well, with all these misunderstanding, could the Volta regional representative, Setor be feeling cheated?
Setor was indeed one of the outstanding contenders in this year's Ghana's Most Beautiful pageantry.
She was a possible winner, but Safoah was also fantastic and equally had the chance of winning.
So what went wrong for Setor and what worked for Safoah?
For my observation, much was expected from Setor as a Medical Doctor.
Despite the fact that Setor was eloquent and confident, I believe the judges expected much more from her.
The judges expected expertise answers to most of the questions that she was asked.
As a doctor, they were expecting her to be detailed and also use innovative approach in answering most of the questions that she answered.
But that was not the case.
Unfortunately for the Volta Region's representative, most of the questions she herself picked and answered revolved around health, and safety.
Hence, as a young practicing doctor, the judges anticipated a much more in-depth answers from her.
But per the comments of some of the judges, Setor couldn't impress them despite being eloquent.
For instance during the tourism night, one of the judges made a comment, after Setor's answer that reflected some of these anomalies.
In my view, as I close this article, I believe both Setor and Safoah had equal chances of winning.
And at the end of the day, it was only one person who could wear the crown, and Ashanti Regional's Safoah was favoured to be that person.
So Setor congratulations, you did your part.
