The Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA formerly Ghana Music Awards) was established in 1999 by Mascot to celebrate Ghanaian musicians. It is most significant Entertainment event in Ghana that are presented annually. The awards ceremony features performances by artistes, the nominees jam. It is produced by event management firm Charterhouse, in collaboration with telecommunications network Vodafone to which the following objectives are observe:
To provide an international platform through which the Ghanaian music industry can be accessed, to honor and appreciate musicians and other industry players like the sound engineers, producers etc.
This years edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Award was held on the 25th to 26th of June 2021. The 2021 edition has been held with gospel artiste Diana Antwi Hamilton emerging as the winner of the Ultimate award. Also awarded on the night are Kidi, Adina, Kofi Kinaata, Akwaboah, Kuami Eugene, Dada Hafco, Mr Drew, Fameye, Keche, Eno Barony and the list continue.
