Gyakie, Kidi, Yaw Tog and Stonebwoy Nominated In All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA)

The list of 2021 nominees has been revealed by the African Union Commission (AUC) and the International Committee of All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA).

The list, which was revealed on September 22, 2021, was compiled from approximately 8,880 songs submitted for consideration.

It includes almost 400 songs from African artists and creatives on the continent and in the Diaspora, divided into 30 continental and 10 regional categories.

Blaq Diamond, South Africa's sensation duo, is leading the 2021 AFRIMA nominations scorecard with eight nominations for their song "SummerYoMuthi" in the categories of "Best Male Artiste in Southern Africa," "Artiste of the Year in Africa," "Song of the Year in Africa," "Producer of the Year in Africa," "Best Male Artiste in African Inspirational Music," "Breakout Artiste of the Year".

Gyakie of Ghana is the front-runner in three categories: ‘Best Female Artist in Western Africa,' ‘Best African Collaboration,' and ‘Best Artiste, Duo, or Group in African R n B Soul.'

From November 19-21, 2021, AFRIMA, in collaboration with the African Union Commission (AUC), will be broadcast live on 84 television stations in 109 countries from Lagos, Nigeria. Since 2014, AFRIMA has been recognized as the pinnacle of global recognition for African music.
