There are many who believe that Kumawood actors and actresses are illiterates hence cannot speak the English language simply because their roles requires them to speak Twi. However that is not the case as most of them are very fluent in the English language with some of them even being graduates.

Emelia Brobbey

Emelia Brobbey holds a diploma in Journalism hence it comes as no surprise as she currently hosts a TV show on Adom TV. She speaks the twi language so fluent that you may think she can't speak English too.

She has featured in movies like Kofi Sika, Adofoasa, Nkonyaa, Asantewaa etc.


Vivian Okyere

The fast rising actress is also very fluent in the English language although she started her career in the Kumawood movie indistry. She says she prefers acting in Ghallywood to Kumawood due to the ability to rehearse roles at home before going on set.

She graduated from KAAF University College some few months back.


Nana Ama McBrown
