Kwaw Kese performed at the VGMA party in the United States and right after the performance, TV3’s MzGee interviewed him and asked about his opinion on this year’s VGMA award. He expressed some optimism about the award scheme.
He was also asked why he quickly gets agitated and throws tantrums at Ghanaians. Abodam (mad king) said there are a lot of things that don’t make sense in Ghana. For instance, why should a mother go to jail for showing her naked body to her own son? She should at least be banned from social media for some time or given community service. (Referring to Akuapem Poloo).
I guess he didn’t know there is nothing like community service in Ghana law.
Again, he was quizzed whether he sees competition in the upcoming artists who are gaining fame. Kwaw said he has been in the music industry for over 20yrs even before Yaw Tog was born.
So, he doesn’t see competition, rather he is old and has won awards so doesn’t need to prove anything to anyone anymore. Right now, he is the ‘King of Kings’ in Ghana music and all the kids (upcoming artist) look up to him. So, nothing like competition whatsoever.
