It was an excellent start to Today, Saturday, May 29, 2021 show on Multimedia’s Newsfile. Randy Abbey, host of ‘Good Morning Ghana’ and Abdul Malik Kweku Baako joined Samson Anyenini to discuss topical issues that are affecting the country. one of the issues pertained to the use of an expensive jet hired by the president for his travels.
According to Dr. Randy Abbey, no one can block the president from travelling. He noted that the problem however was the choice of jet to use. He noted that the company that lent the jet had other jets which had lower pricing and yet the President Akufo-Addo choose a 15,000 pounds per hour jet.
“This is the top of the range in the fleet of aircrafts that this company have. These things are not hidden and so even in opting for this particular one, you should know that these are things that will come to light. People will get to know and you will need to ask yourself, will this be a defensive position? This has nothing to do with hiring a jet but what to hire.
If you decide to hire a car you have an option of a Mercedes 300 or a Maybach. Which one you hire has consequences. What was hired is the problem. Why would the president choose this when there were other options? What he did has consequences and they need to be answered especially at a time government is telling us to cut our coat according to our size” Randy Abbey said.
