Ernestina Afari known in showbiz as Dhat Gyal and at age 17, she has garnered a huge following on Facebook and from Ghanaians and outside countries such UK, Sweden, Jamaica among others just by releasing covers and mashups .
Her deep nasal voice couple with her resilient attitude on the microphone do not only leave you craving for more but also paints a positive picture of the future for the music industry.
In an interview with Dhat* Gyal, she explained that she started doing Dancehall music at age 14 and had to struggle to survive with no support.
''I had no one to take care of me after my mom died and daddy wasn't supportive. My sister will go hawking while I would move round looking for a job and then pass by the studio from there until I met my manager."
The huge following and views on her Facebook page so far motivates her to keep giving of her best.
"I see people love what I do so will ensure I don't disappoint my fans by doing good music," she noted.
Dhat Gyal hopes to be one of the greatest musicians in the world. Artistes like Efya, Kodjo Antwi and Rihanna are her biggest inspiration.
Sadly, all these hopes and aspirations comes to an end when she finally find herself in a getto seriously addicted with wee smoking and engaging in other social vices.
In an interview, she tearfully explained , she was addicted to marijuana when her mum died and she has to struggle to survive, her friends were the only companion who introduce her to smoking and to other drugs which really damaged her music carreer as at now.
