Tribute to Chadwick Boseman, the actor of Black Panther as he dies of colon cancer at age 43

Chadwick Boseman was an American actor known for his portrayals of real life historical figures such as, Jackie Robinson in 42, James Brown in Get on Up and Thurgood Marshall in Marshall. News reaching us is that on 28th August, 2020, at age 43, he died following a four year battle with colon cancer. He was born and raised in Anderson, South Carolina to Carolyn and Leroy Boseman, both African American.

Chadwick Boseman the actor of Black Panther is dead. It is with immeasurable grief that we confirm the passing of Chadwick Boseman. Chadwick was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016, and battled with it these last 4 years as it progressed to stage IV. A true fighter, Chadwick preserved through it all, and brought you many of the film's you have come to love so much.

From Marshall to Da 5 bloods, August Wilson's Ma Raineys black bottom and several more, all were filmed during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy. It was the honor of his career to bring King T'challa to life in Black Panther. He died in his home, with his wife and family by his side.

He was raised as a Christian and was baptized. Boseman was part of a church choir and youth group, and his former pastor said that he still keeps his faith. Boseman has stated that he prayed to be the Black Panther before he was cast as the character, in the Marvel Cinematic universe. He was a vegetarian.

Marvel has lost a great star. Africa has lost a great pride. May his soul rest in peace.
