In Remembrance And Celebration Of Yaw Donkor Alias "Nkomode" of Concert Party Show.

Born Yaw Donkor, Nkomode came into prominence when he was a comedian on Concert Party, a show on stage comedy and acting alongside Bishop Bob Okala, Abenkwan, Original 32, Agya Koo, Ice Kenkey, A1 and more.

Nkomode who hailed from Wassa Akropong in the Western Region was a member of the Kristo Asafo Drama Group, the group sponsored by the Kristo Asafo Church which was behind the Concert Party show.

The show aired on Ghana Television(GTV) every Saturday night from the 90s to the 2000s and had a signature tune which got many people glued to their TV sets. The show had a huge and loyal audience which made the veteran comedian who was good at his craft becoming a household name.


Nkomode left Ghana for abroad during the peak of his comedy career on the Concert Party show which explains his hiatus from the comedy and entertainment space in Ghana for a long period of time.

During the show as a comedian, he won the Concert Party Champions of Champions competition for three consecutive years, 1996, 97 and 98 respectively.

Nkomode returned to Ghana and acted in some movies until he died and was laid to rest in the year 2016.
