Education is important everywhere in the world because it enlightens and equips people with the skills they need to compete in life. Acting is a discipline that is practiced at the university level as theater or performing arts, although some famous actors have studied other fields.
Lawyers are needed in society because they help fight, protect, and resolve legal matters, but some lawyers have gone on to become Nollywood actors because they enjoy acting. Dumping one's job to follow one's dream can be daunting, but it pays off when there is a breakthrough, and that is what we will be looking at today.
1. Femi Adebayo
Femi Adebayo is one of Nollywood's most versatile and hardworking actors, having worked in the industry since 1985 while still working as a lawyer. Femi received his law degree at the University of Ilorin before obtaining his master's degree at the University of Ibadan.
2. Falana Folarin
Falz is a multi-talented performer who is not only an actress but also a musician. He earned his law degree from the University of Reading in England, where he studied.
3. Kanayo O. Kanayo
KOK was admitted to the bar in 2020, after graduating from the University of Abuja in 2019. He then attended the Abuja Law School.
4. Damijo Richard Mofe
RMD is one of the few people with multiple degrees; he studied theater arts at the University of Benin before transferring to the University of Lagos to study law, graduating in 2004.
He studied Business Administration at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and received his Master's in International Law and Diplomacy from Unilag. He has been active in Nollywood for decades.
Funke Akindele is another actress with several degrees; she studied mass communications at the Moshood Abiola Polythecnic before transferring to the University of Lagos to pursue a law degree.
