They Want Me To Keep Quiet But I Can’t: Disappointed Captain Smart Speaks Again

Suspended Morning Show Host of Angel FM, Captain Smart has revealed that there have been a lot of attempts to shut him up but he declined.

According to the controversial journalist, his suspension from the program was as a result of some topics he recently discussed.

Captain Smart was speaking in an interview with Paul Adom Otchere on Metro Television’s Good Evening program.

According to him, he discussed why the Inspector General of Police has refused to increase the salaries of his men after promising.

He also indicated that the issue of galamsey and Ghana’s public debt was getting out of hand which he could not keep quiet.

Captain Smart adds that he later had a call and was asked to keep quiet to protect his boss, but he declined.

“My program ‘fabwoso’ has been discussing issues which other broadcasters are afraid to discuss. I call people to feed me with the needed information and I also give it out. I also have the morning fire right after the news. This whole thing started from Galamsey to our public debt and the IGP. They started shooting Policemen, I was scared and asked for protection for them. I told the police boss that he will be the worse IGP because he promised an increment in the salaries of the police and that never came. Then somebody calls me and said my bosses need protection so I should keep quiet. But I told them I will not”. Captain Smart indicated.

According to Captain Smart, he did not spare the John Dramani Mahama administration when they failed, and the same is happing under Nana Akufo Addo.

“So I said that during the administration of John Mahama I was very critical at him. I was at Adom FM at the time. They kept warning me but I told them Ghana first. GDP was 69 percent under John Mahama and now it's 76 under Akkufo Addo. So if Mahama was incompetent, then I will not spare Dr. Bawumia who told us they will not borrow”. He added.

He implored journalists to keep fighting the politicians to do the right thing. He adds that there are a lot of university graduates in Ghana who are currently unemployed and it’s a big problem.

“It is very critical on us as journalists to fight for this country. 275,000 university graduates come out every year and we don’t know the Jobs for them. The problem is that the leadership has not been helping. It is a major problem in Africa. The solution is that we need quality leadership. I voted for Nana Akufo Addo. So people should understand that I don’t hate Nana Addo. I love him and that is why I’m speaking about his mistakes”. He added.
