As usual, there were fireworks on Onua TV's Onua Maakye show when the host took center stage to steer affairs on the show.
Captain Smart has been discussing some abandoned projects on the show for some time now. In the previous week, much of the discussions were focused on the Afari Military hospital in the Brong Ahafo region. The project is said to have been completed in 2018 but is still not operational as of now.
Today, Captain Smart again made a revelation on another hospital that has been completed and yet, still not operational. The Konongo District hospital is a 60-bed facility and was constructed by the Egyptian firm, Euroget De-Invest. The project was completed a few months back but is yet to be operationalized.
Expressing his frustration on the matter, Captain Smart criticized political actors for their inactions that have led to projects some of these abandoned projects rotting away.
In a quick turn of events, he spoke highly of the health Minister, Kwaku Agyemang-Manu, and indicated that his wonderful history at the Ministry of Finance during the era of President Kuffour gives him a lot of confidence with regards to the capabilities of the health Minister.
Captain Smart went on his knees on the show and appealed to Kwaku Agyemang-Manu to as a matter of urgency pay visits to health facilities that appear to have been abandoned.
" Kwaku Agyemang-Manu, I am begging you to do something about this. I am on my knees and appealing to you. Some of us know your capabilities and we cannot forget under any circumstance. Do your best to ensure that these abandoned health facilities are operationalized. I know you and I am very confident you can do the job. I am begging you on my knees." he reiterated.
He also advised the President to follow up on whatever his appointees tell him because most of them are misleading him and it is a dent on his government.
