Brief Biography:

Wendy Asiamah Addo, popularly known in the showbiz and entertainment industry as Wendy Shay, is a Ghanaian Afropop and Afrobeats singer. She was born on the 20th day of February, in 1996. After the sudden death of Ebony Reigns, Wendy Shay was introduced to music by Rufftown Records Manager Bullet and signed in January 2018. On 1 June 2018, she released her debut single "Uber Driver", which made a hit. It was produced by MOG Beatz. Since her first music dropped, she has continued to work hard to maintain her popularity and also stay relevant in the Ghanaian music industry.

Government petitioned to ban Wendy Shay's new song.

Just recently, Wendy Shay's new release 'Heat' has a group of people petitioning the Ghanaian government to ban the new song. The reason for the petition is unknown but Netizens believes it may be due to the words she used in her song. In the song, Wendy took a dig at Ghanaian media personalities Nana Aba Anamoah, Serwaa Amihere, Abena Akorkor and NPP's John Boadu in the most subtle way to avoid a lawsuit.

Wendy Shay's latest single, titled 'heat', also talked about Ghanaian women who have been accused of sleeping with married men and politicians to make quick money. The singer subtly shaded Nana Aba Anamoah, Serwaa Amihere and Abena Akorkor in the lyrics. The song also highlights the economic hardship and struggles the Ghanaian youth go through as some men and women engage in illicit activities to earn money.

As part of her unusual social media speculations, social media influencer, songwriter and musician Wendy Shay was spotted in a video on Instagram buying beans at the roadside after she parked her luxurious car. This happened some days ago before the group petitioned government to ban her song. The price of everything she bought is not known yet, but having at least 3cedis, you can satisfy yourself. This meal is considered to be eaten by broke people.

Seeing her do this was surprising as no one expected her to do such things. So for someone like Wendy Shay, we don't expect her to be eating such meals especially in the open like that.

However, with the video Wendy Shay posted, one will wonder if she is truly broke or she is just trying to promote her latest song.
