There are quite a number of celebrities in Ghana that have chieftaincy positions in their hometown. The following musicians have various chieftaincy positions in their hometowns or other parts of the country.
Let us look at five five popular musicians who double as chiefs or queens in the country..
#1. Kuame Eugene
Kuame Eugene is the current Youth Chief (Mmrantehene) at Tepa in the Ashanti Region. The installment took place in the town of Tepa during a special concert in January, 2022.
#2. Shatta Wale
The Dancehall musician is currently a chief in the Northern region. He was installed as the chief during his "Reign” concert in Tamale in June, 2019. The chiefs honoured him with such position for his support for the Ghana music industry
#3. Wendy Shay
Wendy Shay is the queen mother of Gomoa Afransi in the central region. Wendy Shay is a popular musician who has a lot of songs and features.
The "Nothing I Get" hit maker is currently a chief in Wassa. He is given the title of "Wassa Nyankonton" which literary means that the town's star.
Samini was installed as chief by Wa Naa, the paramount chief of Wa as Pibilii which means "King of the little rocks" in December 11th, 2018.
