Media personality and host of Good Morning Ghana on Metro TV, Dr. Randy Abbey has reacted to rambo style arrest of a Journalist during the weekends on charges of publishing false news and extortion.

During the weekends, the editor-in-chief of the Whatsup newspaper, David Sitsofe Tamakloe was arrested in a rambo style by four police officers at Afrikiko for publishing a fake story about a senior government official and his wife and was sent to the criminal investigation department (CID) headquarters. According to the lawyer of the journalist, he spent the night behind bars at the Airport Police station and was granted Police enquiry bail the following day after a search was carried out at his house by the police.

Reacting to the issue on Good morning Ghana, Dr. Randy expressed outrage over the rambo styled manner in which he(David Sitsofe Tamakloe) was arrested and the treatment meted out to him by state actors.

"I read a statement from the Police and the charges were publication of false news and extortion. You are arresting somebody for publication of false news and you are going to search his house. And so what! For what? Why was he arrested in that fashion? This needs to be explained. Why use the state institutions to abuse others?"
