Short Story: The Truth About ADOPTATION OF ANIME CULTURE IN AFRICA

One of the most successful Japanese animation genres is anime, or animated cartoons. It is an amalgamation of Japanese culture and western styles. Asian animation has a long history that predates the arrival of computers.

In the latter days of the 20th century, anime has become a symbol of culture and lifestyle by the children and adolescents. The truth is that anime started off as a mere son’s hobby which gradually transformed into a form of entertainment that can be enjoyed by anyone regardless of age, race or gender. This article aims to discuss the adoption of anime culture in Africa.

There have been many attempts in Africa to introduce the genre to our continent but none have succeeded very well in popularising it. One of the reasons for that is that people didn't appreciate the ingenuity behind the creation and content of these series which are aimed at children especially young children. That has changed over time and today we can see how adaptations to these types of cartoons have entertained our children in an imaginative manner with minimal violence or any offensive material as opposed to today's so-called animations
