There has been speculations among many Ghanaians that there is rivalry between Brother Sammy and Ernest Opoku. The Nation's worshipper as he has been always calling himself granted a lot of interviews whereby he discuss his relationship between himself and colleague Ernest Opoku. Some years ago, it came to the public that both are not in talking terms but the actual cause of it wasn't known. But today, such alleged 'enmity' is not there again as both have been happily working tirelessly to improve his craft.

It could be recalled that, Bother Sammy once went to United Showbiz and disclosed to Nana Ama Mcbrown that he is the one that taught Ernest Opoku how to sing. He also said Ernest Opoku Junior is his junior in the industry. On United Showbiz with the same host, Nana Ama Mcbrown has replied to the earlier claims of Brother Sammy. Aside Nana Ama, he explained himself in the presence of Obaapa Christy, Rose Adjei and Patience Nyarko.

According to Ernest Opoku, Sammy still plays like a child and for that matter shouldn't be taken seriously for certain utterances he makes. He said it is never true because he came out with his first song in 2005 and that time Sammy was no where to be found. He said that time it was Obaapa Christy and others who were there. Nana Ama asked him if there is a problem between both and he said there is nothing like that just that Sammy plays a lot so he doesn't attach seriousness to some things he says. Nana used that instance to warn Brother Sammy not to do that again on her show.
