Vodafone Ghana Music Awards is the biggest event in Ghana as far as music is concerned. Few weeks after the nominees were announced for the various categories, social media couldn't stop buzzing about it. New and upcoming artistes have earned themselves nomination for their hardwork and talent. The event rewards hardwork and talent and as such all the nominees in each category is a winner but, there will always be an ultimate winner in all the categories. Following the release of the nominees, tweeps couldn't stop deliberating on it and one category i find interesting is the best afrobeat/ afropop song category.
With the likes of Adina, Gyakie who is new to the game, Kidi, Darkovibes, Mr Drew, Kwesi Arthur, Kelvynboy, king Promise, Camidoh and wendy Shay, i believe this category is power packed due to the fact that all of them produced hit songs however the only person I'm rooting for is Gyakie. The upcoming songstress' hit single 'forever' did the magic for her. The song has become an anthem in Ghana and perhaps overseas.
The song has dominated airwaves and it's still doing a great job on our radios. Although all of the artistes in the category served their fans with hits and bangers but amongst them all Gyakie's 'forever' will definitely earn her the award in the Afrobeat/Afropop song category. She's been tipped to succeed sensational singer Efya Nocturnal.
