Ghanaian Reggae Star Rocky Dawuni was nominated for the GRAMMYs in 2015 and that was a record as the first Ghanaian to be nominated on the world’s prestigious awards. This was a great joy to Ghana and the music industry but according to Kumi Guitar, that achievement did not bring any benefit to Ghana. Kumi Guitar said this on a phone interview with Attractivemustapha.com.
The Highlife artiste explained his statement that reggae did not originate from Ghana so if a Ghanaian is nominated for reggae awards it is not a benefit to Ghana it is rather a benefit to the originator.
“If it were to be a highlife artiste who was nominated instead of Rocky Damuni, it will be a plus to the industry” the ‘sex’ hit maker added.
Kumi Guitar has his new song out which featured Shatta Wale.
