The glitz and glamour that comes with stardom and being a celebrity makes some celebrities believe they are way above the law and can do whatever pleases them. However, times and seasons have shown that just like the ordinary person, a celebrity can be put before the courts should they go wrong.

Musician Geeman and Actor Jagger Pee
Geeman and Japper Pee were jailed after Geeman shot a taxi driver to death. There was no hiding place for the two musicians as Ghanaian had so much interest in their case. Jagger Pee was sentenced to life imprisonment for abetment to crime and the main culprit, Geeman was sentenced to death. Jagger Pee appealed his sentence and had a reduced term. Geeman enjoyed a presidential pardon and was released in 2009. Geeman was the Ghana version of Micheal Jackson. He won a World dance competition.
He has been working as an Evangelist since his release from prison.

Isaac Abeokuta Aidoo, popularly known in the entertainment industry as Goodies, was probably one of the most effective, productive and influential music producers in Ghana in the early 2000s. The long list of artists produced by Goodies includes Lord Kenya, Tic Tac, VIP, Sydney, Mzbel, Nana Kwame, 2Face and Tony Tetuila (From Nigeria).
His ability to produce hit songs consistently made him one of the most sought after Producers in the game. Unfortunately for Goodies, while at his peak, he was arrested at the Kotoka International Airport on 23rd April 2008 for trying to sneak a substance believed to be Cocaine (80 Pellets) into the United States. He was jailed for 13 years and was released in 2014 after serving 6 years at the Nsawam prison.
IBRAHIM SIMA (EXOPA)
Ibrahim Sima was one of the most influential fashionistas in the country. He was known as EXOPA was the chief executive officer of the EXOPA Modelling Agency. At his peak, he organized fashion week invents that saw Hollywood Star Boris Kodjoe gracing the event. Until his arrest, the expectation for him was that he puts Ghana on the globe in terms of modelling. However, that dream was quickly aborted when the star was arrested in the September of 2009 at the Kotoka international airport carrying a substance believed to be weed into the aeroplane. The drug was thoughtfully hidden in four tubers of yam. Although he denied knowledge of the drugs, he was jailed for 15 years and died in 2014 at the Nsawam prison.
The “abodam” hitmaker sadly got to know he was not above the law when he finally found himself in prison. After a series of bragging and making music about smoking weed, Kwaw Kese was finally arrested at the Plus Two drinking spot in Kumasi for smoking a substance believed to be marijuana on 22nd November 2014. The Mad Time music boss was sentenced to a day in jail and ordered to pay a fine of Gh¢1,200.
Deeba’s case is probably the most disgusting and grievous of all. After all the fame and women he attracted with his stardom, it was discovered that the celebrity has been defiling his stepdaughter right from the age of 8 until she was 13 years. He was arrested in Ghana and extradited to the United Kingdom where he is serving a jail term. Deeba’s official name is Acheampong Deeba.
After being a key star in the Tigo Honey chukchuk advert, Shaka Zulu became beyond reproach. There were rumours of he been involved in numerous robbery and theft cases but his cup was full when he was arrested together with his friends for robbing a Nigerian at Batsona. The gang made away with 5 laptops, a wrist watch and GHS 150,000. He was a bouncer and a model.
Samuel Safo popularly known as Showboy was a former member of the AMG gang who resides in the United States of America. Till his prison sentence, Showboy was a very vicious socialite who loved to brag about his belongings and starts 'beefs' with other celebrities. He was jailed in March 2019 for stabbing Shatta Wale’s friend. He is currently serving 6 years in prison in the USA.
