The news going round has it that “echoke” singer S3fa is a lesbian and her partner is Efya Nocturnal because they kissed. The duo has been trending and the whole nation is talking about them. However, after watching the video, I rather have an opposite opinion, contrary to public opinion.
Another “Lesbobo” move- some Ghanaians twit. Lesbobo means lesbians from the Ghanaians perspective. However, my simple question remains: is every kiss sexual? Why is it that in Ghana, every single kiss is attributed to sexual interpretations? Regardless of who organized it or what the details of their relationship hold?
Look, Afia Schwarzenegger kissed her son some months ago. The kiss was very affectionate and the duo did it as if they were lovers or perhaps have sexual affairs. But I ask you, does their kiss mean they’re having sexual affair? The simple answer is- No. People share a kiss with their loved ones all the time and Efya and S3fa doesn’t stand an exception on the matter.
The kiss was very short and friendly in nature. It is not a French kiss that can take several minutes. That one, we could read meanings into it. However, this is a short and friendly kiss that Ghanaians should relax and allow friends to share their intimacy.
In our senior high schools, ladies kiss all the time, some "mothers and daughters" do that and although some may be lesbians, many just share friendly kisses and nothing more.
