NCA Shutdown 49 TV Channels. Check out if your favorite TV station is on the list.

Following the murder of a 10-year-old boy for money rituals, pressure was applied to the National Communication Authority to shut down television and radio stations that permitted fraudsters and money doublers to operate on their stations.

Many people assumed that these television networks were simply promoting these programs; however, NCA discovered that many of them were not licensed. This prompted the National Communication Authority to issue a shutdown order for 49 televisions.

“According to the monitoring, some channels were broadcasting without valid Authorizations, in violation of Section 2(4) of the Electronic Communications Act 775 of 2008, which states: ‘Except as provided by this Act or any other law not inconsistent with this Act, a person shall not operate a broadcasting system or provide a broadcasting service without a frequency authorisation by the Authority.

As a result, the Authority reports that 49 networks are operating without valid authorizations and are being shut down.
