Ohemaa Mercy is a gospel musician who started singing so as to touch souls and bring many to Christ. She has succeeded in the music field and has composed many songs that are famous in Africa and abroad.
She was born on 7th September 1977, in Wieja in Accra. She lived most of her early life in Koforidua. Her parents are Mr. and Mrs. Amoah, who came from Elmina and Abakrapa. She is the third born among five children. Her native name is Twum-Ampofo and she uses Ohemaa Mercy as the stage name. Ohemaa is derived from Ghanaian dialect that means ‘queen.’ Currently, she is 42 years old.
Her education
She attended a primary school at St Peter’s Anglican, which is based in Koforidua. She also proceeded to JSS in the same institution. Later, she joined Ghana Secondary School, where she obtained her SSCE Certificate. She then proceeded to S.D.A teacher's training college, where she obtained her Teacher’s Certificate, ‘Á.’

She is married to Isaak Twum-Ampofo. The two have a lovely relationship that serves as a role model to many couples. She says her husband is her best friend and a pillar that solidifies her purpose in life. The two have been blessed with three boys. They include: Aseda, Nhyira, and Nyamekye.
