Chadwick Boseman’s $1.3M estate to be split between wife and parents

The executors of Chadwick Boseman's will have divided his estate equally between his widow and his parents. The Black Panther actor, who was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2016, passed away on August 28, 2020, at the age of 43. After deducting taxes, funeral, legal, and attorney fees, his estate was worth $2.3 million.

Prior to the different fees, the estimated total value of Boseman's estate was $3,881,758. According to Black Enterprise, his widow Taylor Simone Ledward, 31, has requested that her husband's wealth be divided equally between her and her in-laws, Leroy and Carolyn.

The estate will provide $1.15 million to Simone Ledward, who handled the estate settlement, and an equivalent sum to the late husband's parents. According to reports, the actor did not have a will when he passed away, thus the amount of legal fees his family had to pay out was significantly higher than if he had.

Nearly a year before he passed away, Chadwick married Simone in secret. Although they had been dating since 2016, the actor's family didn't publicly acknowledge their marriage until after his loss.
