Mohammed Nanzari Writes; Two Important Lessons Every Man Must Learn From Veteran Psalm Adjeteyfio

Veteran Psalm Adjeteyfio is a renowned Ghanaian actor. The ‘taxi driver’ fame has been in the news space and all social media platforms for the passed few weeks not for a good reason but a very sad and sorrowful way. The actor was financially bankrupted and could not even afford to pay for his house rent in recent times and had to seek help from the public.

For God being so good to him, many Ghanaians heard his cry. He was supported with some amount of cash from philanthropists. Notable among them was the vice president, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia. The donations were meant for his house rent and up keeping. Ghanaians are God fearing people I know that!

But there’s this proverb in the Dagbani language, that says that, “ If you see an old man on the street with a bowl begging for food, know that he used all the time in his youth to play”. The question is, did Mr. Psalm Adjeteyfio used his time to play while he was in his youth? Or it is life that has hit him so hard?

Whichever way it may be, there are two major important lessons that every young man must learn from his life.

First and famous, never in anyway for seek your family to pursue something you don’t know the end result. According to the actor, it got to some point in time in his life that he abandoned his wife and children and had to run after a side chick. Which he described as a demon in one of his circulated videos.

Your wife is your wife and she is part of your family. Don’t leave her to chase other girls. Today Mr. Adjeteyfio has regretted bitterly and shame of himself that, the family he once abandoned because of a side chick are now taking care of him. This is a lesson for you and I to learn from.

The second point/thing is that, know that there are challenges ahead of you as you are young and working. Work and save for tomorrow because you will grow old in some day in your life. You can’t be young forever. So you make hay while the sun still shines.

The seventy-three year old man can no longer afford to pay his rent! Something he did ways back without the help of anyone and today he has to depend on the public, should be something worrying and a lesson to learn from.

Time is precious, time is money, So use it well.
