To get rid of ants in your home, use pepper, peppermint, vinegar, and other natural methods. (watch)

Peppermint is an insect repellent that is naturally occurring. Planting mint around your home or using peppermint essential oil as a natural ant repellent are both options. Ants despise the odor, and your home will smell minty fresh as a result! Plant mint near your front door and around the perimeter of your house.

Use a cotton ball with a few drops of peppermint essential oil to wipe suspected spots. Place a peppermint oil cotton ball in areas where ants congregate, such as cabinets.

In a spray bottle, combine vinegar and water in a 50/50 solution. To kill the ants, spray it directly on them, then wipe them up with a damp paper towel and throw them away. Spray vinegar and water around your windowsills, doors, and other areas where you observe ants coming inside as a deterrent.

Lemon juice, like vinegar, appears to damage the scent trails that ants follow. Make an all-purpose spray by combining one part lemon juice with three parts water. Spray the lemon solution around your home's entryways and perimeter, as well as any spots where ants are visible.

Cinnamon is an excellent ant-killing agent. An ant suffocates and dies after inhaling cinnamon. Ground cinnamon can be sprinkled on the ants' path or around the opening of an anthill. Cinnamon essential oil is also effective at repelling ants. Spray ant trails, around doors, windows, and gaps with a mixture of cinnamon oil and water.

Cayenne pepper is poisonous to ants. Black pepper will do the job just as well. Locate the source of the ant infestation, sprinkle some pepper around the location, and, if feasible, build a barrier to keep the ants out of your home. Mix some pepper with water and spray the resulting fluid at the ants as an alternative.
