The Green Africa Youth Organization (GAYO) in partnership with ten (10) Environmental Civil Society Organisations in the country are poised to rid of Labadi Beach of plastic wastes this Saturday, September 18, 2021 with a clean-up exercise on the theme:" The Ocean Home For Fishes Not Plastics".
The partnering organizations include La Dade Kotopon Municipal, Human Rights Reporters Ghana, Young Reporters for the Environmental Ghana - YRE - Ghana, Ghana Youth Environment Movement - GYEM, United Youth Initiative Africa, Sesa Recycling, Nexd’Or, Let’s do it Ghana, McGharbins Network and Youth Climate Council - YCC).
The exercise, a component of the GAYO GHANA Brand Audit 2021 seeks to rally for support and build up movement in conquest for the #nation to #breakfreefrompastic as well as strongly advocate for ban of single use plastic liberation to protect, conserve and restore the Earth.
The GAYO GHANA Brand Audit 2021 initiative is equally intended to help increase data collection and foster movement building in the fight against plastic pollution in Ghana.
The exercise comes off on Saturday, September 18, a day set aside globally to commemorate the 2021 World Clean-up Day which is of significance to the event.
