Chainsaw Operators fell trees at Jinjinabani in the Nanumba North Municipal, Bimbilla in the Northern region.
Despite the drought and lack of rain this year as a result of the lack of trees, chainsaw operators still engaged in deforestation in the name of logging.

The continuous education and awareness on the impacts of illegal chainsaw milling and deforestation on Ghana’s economy and the environment have still not change the attitude of some illegal chainsaw operators.
According to some of the members of the community, they went to their farms yesterday 5th June 2021 and saw that the big trees on their farms were cut down by the chainsaw operators without their knowledge.
This nearly causes confusion among the residents.

Upon interacting with the chainsaw operators, it was realised that some Key members of the community were aware of what is going on.
They cut these trees into logs and transport them away which causes deforestation and finally result in a lack of rain.
