Francis Akwasi Takyi, 29, popularly known as Akwasi, and Andy Korankye, 24, popularly known as Ampofo, are friendsand hunters who went on a hunting expedition last night in the forest at Wassa Esaamang in the Wassa East district of the western region.
They trekked for almost the whole night without finding any animal to shoot, so Ampofo, who was very tired, rested on some lying dead wood while Akwasi was still searching for at least one animal to compensate for his own.
In the process, Akwasi located a light, thinking that it was an antelope, so he set his gun and positioned himself appropriately to get an accurate target.
Akwasi finally pulled the trigger of his gun and shot directly at the target.
Sadly, his target was not an antelope, as he presumed, but his friend Ampofo.
