Two Tigers Found In A Residential Facility In Accra To Be Relocated To Appropriate Facility - Police

The Regional Public Affairs Unit of the Ghana Police Service has released a press statement on two tigers found in a residential facility in Accra.

The Accra Regional Police Command on May 19, 2022, received a complaint about tigers being kept in a residential neighborhood in Accra.

Police preliminary investigations have established that a resident in a gated community at Osu, Accra, is keeping two tigers under lock in a cage in his house.

The Police after reaching out to Wildlife Division of the Forestry Commission says efforts are underway to relocate the wild animals to an appoprate facility.

Also, a special Police team have been deployed to provide adequate security in the area to ensure the safety of residents until the two tigers are finally relocated.

Police has thanked members of the public for bringing the case to police attention.
