Earth Day is an annual event celebrated across the world on April 22 to highlight dangers associated with deforestation and land degradation whiles encouraging tree planting through advocacy and public sensitization campaigns. This year’s celebration was on the theme "Restore Our Earth"

NACPaCC through its partners is advocating for more trees to be planting in and around homes whilst calling on government, traditional authorities as well as the forestry commission to issue punitive measures and regulate indiscriminate and illegal felling of trees and dumping of refuse in Ghana’s forest reserves.

Over the past 2 years, the Northern Advocacy Center for Peace and Climate Change has planted 600 varieties of seedlings in some parts of Bamvum in the Tamale Metropolis.
