“Why Did He Send You These Pictures During A Programme?” – Nana Akomea Quizzes Randy Abbey

Ghana is marking today, Friday, June 11, 2021 as a tree planting day to make up for the massive cutting down of trees that the country has seen. Indeed, major stakeholders like President Akufo-Addo, Vice President Bawumia and John Mahama have all agreed to participate in the tree planting in Ghana. Government intends to plant about 5 million trees today with churches promising to plant 3.9 million in subsequent days.

Felix Kwakye Ofosu and Nana Akomea joined Randy Abbey today, on ‘Good Morning Ghana’ to discuss the Green Ghana agenda. According to Nana Akomea, the Director at the State Transport Services, the ceremony should be organized twice a year to ensure that Ghana goes green and the environment is sustained.

Felix Kwakye, a former deputy communications minister also agreed with Nana. He was however not sure if this could be sustained. He noted that this happened under the John Mahama governemt but it wasn’t sustained so he wants the government to do it cautiously and wisely.

As the discussions continued, Randy Abbey read a text message from Clement Abas Apaak, MP for Builsa South. Dr. Apaak commended the government for the initiative and called for more efforts to be made in sustaining it. The lawmaker also announced that today is his birthday and sent 2 photos. The first photo was when Dr. Apaak was 6 months old and the second was a current one. He mentioned that today was his 51st birthday.

The panelists congratulated Clement Apaak on his birthday but Nana Akomea wasn’t amused about the photos that were added. “Why did he send the photos? What does he want you to do with it?” Nana Akomea queried. Randy explained that the photos might have come to show how far the MP had come in life. This still didn’t satisfy Nana Akomea but had to agree with Randy’s explanation.
