The shocking revelation which was captured by a bystander in a Facebook live video expressed shock at the level of plastic cans in the beach.
According to the individual who recorded the video, the fishermen could not catch even one tray of fish, but rather huge sums of plastic.
"It is indeed a pity to see the challenges nthatbour fisher folks go through", he said in the video.
He appealed to government to pay a very close attention to the plastic waste that has engulfed water bodies.
Plastic waste has been a major problem especially in Ghana's water bodies.
Over the years, close attention has not been given to this menace, which continues to pose a threat to the survival of sea creatures and also human survival.
The shocking revelation would serve as a wake up call for policy makers to identify ways of mitigating plastic waste in water bodies.
