Upper West Region Shall be planting 150, 000 trees out of the total 5million.

Statement from the RCC

"Together with heads of decentralised departments and regsec members, we planted trees at a short ceremony to mark the Green Ghana Day. The Green Ghana Day is being observed across the country to signify the commencement of a simultaneous planting of 5 million trees on this day. I commend the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources for initiating the Green Ghana Day which will be marked annually on the 11th of June. It is a bold step to recover the lost forest cover of the country. It is worthy of note that, planting trees should not be the end activity. Proper care must be put in place to nurture the trees and see to their survival. The target of the Upper West Region is 150,000 trees to be planted today."

Wa Central Member of Parliament
