A sad incident has occurred at Gbitiri, a town in the Northern part of Ghana. The information reaching us indicates that three elephants were crossing a road when two motorbike riders rode into them. The elephants got angry and attacked them killing one man on the spot. The other rider managed to escape. The deceased man is a farmer and a picture of him circulating indicates that he is between the ages of late thirties to early forties. The residents managed to attack and kill two of the stray elephants. The last one has escaped and has not yet been found though it is believed to be wounded.
This article is by the way informing people living in the various communities in the North East Region to be on) guard and immediately report to the nearest police station if the last elephant is seen.
