Facebook users and Netizens are extremely unhappy about the current actions of the Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture Department for revealing that the reopening of the sea will happen in Elmina anytime soon, they will continue to observe the close season as a punishment.
Netizens or social media users on Facebook reacted to the above decision made by the Minister, hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson by asking and concluding that the minister has decided to punish them because the refused to take or collect the rice and the other gifts she sent to Elmina.

On the 27th of July, the Minister paid a visit to the fishermen in Elmina. She came with gifts to be given to them but almost those who were present rejected the present.
So based on this netizens reacting to this her punishment to the Elmina fishermen concluded that she is punishing them for rejecting her gifts.
But news from Western Region, Secondi reveals that the Minister present at the reopening ceremony at Sekondi Fishing Habour on Saturday, revealed that the Elmina fishermen will continue to observe the closed season as a punishment, even though it is time for the reopening of the sea for fishing activities to commence.

She made it known that, the fishermen in Elmina have refused to stop illegal fishing and as a result of that, they will be punished for that behavior but Facebook users and netizens think otherwise.
