Disturbing News: Keta Is Being Washed Away By The Sea.

The challenge being faced by the people of Keta is a very worrying one. So bad is the situation that the sea has taken over portions of the Keta-Aflao road. It has led to over four thousand people in Keta and Anloga Municipalities of the Volta Region being rendered homeless after tidal waves swept through their homes yesterday dawn.

One may wonder if this problem has not been attended to by government after government with the working or building of the sea defense wall. Reality is that, nature is such a strong force and when it strikes in any form, there is very little man can do.

Apart from these areas being low lying, issues of climatic change, specifically global warming have triggered rising sea levels not only there but all over the world.

In the Greater Accra region, places like Glefe are experiencing such disturbing phenomenon leading to parts of the community being washed away or consumed by the ocean.

The pictures which of the disturbing scenes from the Volta region are disturbing as one wonders what will happen to the place in some years to come.
