According to the great Ngūgī Wa Thiong'o, Kenya's finest and, of course, one of Africa's greatest users of the pen, "time does not favour BEAUTY..."
And by "beauty" here, he means physical beautiful: beauty of the flesh.
Consequently, I may want to add that, in our schemes of achievements—ranking of things we are proud of—beauty should never come first.
Beauty is perishable; beauty fades, especially with time, as against investment in one's intellect, impacting lives positively and leaving behind the same tradition for generations to come...

" Every challenge, every adversity, contains within it the seeds of opportunity and growth."
When one door closes, another door opens, but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us.
Every challenge, every disappointment, every adversity contain lessons and opportunities for growth; we need to recognize and focus on the opportunities presented right in front of our eyes.
