I Applied Nail Polish And After 10 Hours This Is What Happened

Do you sometimes experience itching after applying nail polish? Do you know the nail polish that you use can end your life?

This is the more reason why I always urge you to click the FOLLOW button so that you will be the first to get my interesting stories. Today, I would love to share with you my experience after using certain types of nail polish.

I am a young lady who loves makeup and if I say makeup, it comprises everything starting from the head to the foot. Last time, I went to one manicure shop to get my nails done but after some hours of the process, I had problems with my eye and my body as well.

It wasn’t a severe one of course and at first, I didn’t attribute the cause to the polish, but, as my skin kept itching me, I decided to do some research and I found out that it was the nail polish that was causing the side effects.

How Did I know?

Some nail polishes are made of poisonous chemicals which tends to be very harmful to our health. Example of those chemicals includes Toluene, Formaldehyde.

Formaldehyde

According to my research, this compound is what preserves the polish. It is a colourless gas and scientist records it as one of the poisonous gas especially when inhaled or exposed to the body for long. It is the compound responsible for the itchiness.

Toluene

As you can see from the label on the screenshot above, Toluene, is also another harmful chemical that is used in some nail polishes. After some research, I notice how harmful this compound can also be. It gives the polish its high scent and has been known to cause eye problems, and respiratory problems as well.

In fact, according to Brightside, an experiment conducted to check the toxicity among a group of 24 women. 6 hours after painting their nails, most of them had alarming levels of diphenyl phosphate, another poisonous chemical which even rose to 7 times 10 hours after the polishing.

The Recommended nail polishes

Before you use or buy any polish, make sure the type that you buy has the label “3-Free” or “5-Free”. While the former (3-Free) means the polish is free from all Toluene, Formaldehyde, and Dibutyl Phthalate, the latter is also free from several other harmful chemicals.
