There is an adage that says " You are what you eat ''. This means to live healthy you need to live healthy. Some foods are harmful to the body which does not promote a healthy life. Some foods take longer time to longer time to digest than others, that is why people complain of having stomach pains after sleeping directly after eating certain foods.

Let's take a look at how long some foods take before digesting.

1. Water is the fastest digested thing taken into the stomach.

2. Cooked vegetable 40 minutes

3. Chicken 1 hour 30min to 2 hours.

4. Fish 45 minutes to 1 hour.

5. Milk products including cheese 2 hours

6. Meat 2 hours 20 minutes

7. Fruits 15 to 30 minutes

8. Nuts including groundnuts 2 hours 20 minutes.

9. Vegetables 30 to 40 minutes.

10. Potatoes 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours 29 mins.
