The meat section of the multinational supermarket agency has been closed down by the food and drugs board authority, this actions of the FDA came when it was reported that the supermarket that is ShopRite has been importing frozen chicken and repackaging them to seem as if they were made locally produced.
Over a time now, the ministry of industry has been taking to the core to champion the patronisation and consumption of locally produced goods. Which ShopRite went overboard without taking into recognition this reforms by the ministry.
Speaking on this issues by the public relations officer for the ministry of industry, the Ministry has indicated that they will not take it with delight any firm that would impune upon measures which is targeted at moving the country toward the right path and thus, shows regret for such huge company to engage in such act. The ministry are further charging the FDA, Standard authority and other agencies to ensure that the required standards are adhered to by all other firms.
